To all Jazz Band members;
For those who have been at many Candlelight Dinners you are familiar with the day. For those who are not familiar the setup for the day is:
Saturday, Feb. 13th, will involve moving equipment in the morning and a practise at the Complex. This all starts at 9am at KISH with moving equipment. I am wondering who can help with a van and/or truck to take the drumset, piano, and conga drums. Other vehicles will be needed to take music stands and auxilary equipment(amps). If you can help out here, please e-mail/phone me back. Thank you in advance.
Saturday, in the morning, I will need students to the school to help load equipment then it is off to the New London Community Complex. Students will need to get to the complex on their own. There is no bus available.
We will setup equipment on the stage at the complex and then have a practise until 12 noon. For those students who are performing NOT with the Jazz Band, we will run through you songs at 12 noon.
Jazz Band students are asked to come back to the complex for 5:30pm dressed in your Jazz band uniform. I have 2 jazz band vests in my office left from the Christmas Concert, also a white band shirt and 2 green vest. We will reconvene on stage for a warmup and partial run through of some of the songs until 6:10pm.
At 6:30pm we will perform on stage for 20 minutes approximately. Then at 7:05 the singing group Arioso will perform on stage while the patrons are eating dinner. The sax quintet will perform 3 songs on stage around the serving of dessert. After the sax quintet performs, individual/group performing will perform. The evening ends with the Jazz Band performing 10 to 12 songs on stage.
At the end of the evening, Jazz Band members/parents will be needed to help pack up equipment and load equipment into vehicles and then unloaded back into the school.
Many hands make light work. It is hoped that the end of the evening will go as smooth as the beginning of the evening. Your help with the movement of equipment back to the school will be appreciated.
Wishing you all a good day and weekend.
